Prince Andrew High School was locked down this morning after a gun call.

Officials at the school in Dartmouth received an anonymous telephone call just after 11:00 a.m. The caller said a specific student was at the school and was armed with a gun.

School officials immediately insititued lockdown procedures and called in Halifax Regional Police.

Police began to search the school for the student and for weapons, coming up empty.

Police found the student at home, and no weapons were in his possession.

Officials at the school lifted the lockdown about 30 minutes later.

No injuries were reported, and police now say they will try to track down the person who made the initial call and could possibly pursue mischief charges.
