Police chase teens in stolen car into downtown Halifax

Two teenagers are charged after a stolen vehicle was chased into downtown Halifax.
Officers were called to a car theft in progress on Chain Rock Drive near Point Pleasant Park just before 1 a.m.
They spotted the stolen vehicle at North Park and Cunard and ended up pursuing it at high speed toward downtown.
The chase was called off and the driver crashed into the sidewalk at Duke and Barrington. The driver and passenger bailed out and ran, but police made two arrests nearby.
Cody Jesso, 18, of Halifax is charged with the vehicle theft and two counts of breaching probation. A 16-year-old Halifax boy is also charged with the theft, mischief, dangerous driving, evading police and four breaches.
