Passengers on a city bus had their day rerouted by a fight that was punctuated by a gunshot in Dartmouth.
A single shot was fired after a fight involving three teenagers on board the number 72 on Pinecrest Drive at Crystal Drive just before 1pm. Police say no one was wounded.
Metro Transit tells News95.7 seven people plus the driver were on board.
Three of them ran off near Jason McCullough Park. Nearby schools were locked down for 45 minutes before police gave the all-clear.
Late in the day, police told News95.7 a 16-year-old boy was arrested at 4:34pm. A police spokesperson would not say whether the boy was suspected of being the shooter.
Here are descriptions of two of the people police were seeking in the hours following the incident:
- A thin, fair-skinned white boy, 16 or 17 with a tattoo on his collarbone. He was wearing a ballcap and black jacket and had a teenaged girl with him who was wearing a red coat.
- The shooter is described as another 16 or 17 year old white boy, tall and sledner with blue eyes, short spiked hair and a tattoo across the front of his neck. He was wearing a black jacket.
The bus has four video cameras and records sound, and Transit is working with police to provide them with evidence.
