HRP officer charged with sexual assault

A Halifax Regional Police officer has been charged with drugging and sexually assaulting a woman.

The province’s Serious Incident Response Team laid charges against Const. Chris Mosher, 29, yesterday.

Mosher has been with the force four years.

SIRT says the charges against the Mosher stem from complaints Nov. 2 and 3.

Spokesperson Ron MacDonald said the incident is alleged to have happened at Mosher’s home.

“These two knew each other. The allegation is that it was in a very early dating relationship,” MacDonald told News 95.7. “The allegation is that he administered a substance to the individual to facilitate the sexual assault.”

SIRT says they’ve been investigating Mosher since November. He was arrested Dec. 11 and released on conditions, while forensic analysis continued that led to yesterday’s charges.

Mosher is due in Halifax provincial court Feb. 13.
