Officials with St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and its striking faculty association have agreed to
restart contract talks.

There is no date for the talks, but an association news release says talks will resume as soon as is practical.

It says the administration of the school in Antigonish will extend an invitation to the union when it is ready to resume talks.

Association president Peter McInnis held informal meetings today with university president Sean Riley and the chief negotiators for
both sides in the contract dispute.

Today marks the fourth day of a strike by about 400 professors and other academic staff at the university, which has about 4,200
students.
