A New Brunswick woman who claims her dogs were sold online without her permission, has been reunited with the boxers following a lengthy police investigation.

Cassie Craft says she boarded the dogs when she went back to school in November, with a woman named Gail Benoit, and says she later saw her dogs for sale on Kijiji by the woman.

Scott Saunders is an animal advocate in the Annapolis Valley, he tells the Rick Howe Show the dogs were sold in a Zeller’s parking lot in Bridgewater, and one of them was later found in Truro.

He feels it all comes down to legislation.

“It’s time for people to start writing their MLA’s and saying it’s time for us to make some changes here in this province and start protecting animals, and start protecting people who are buying animals,” says Saunders.

He says Benoit listed a number of ads on Kijiji to sell the dogs, which he later removed himself.

Saunders hopes the police lay fraud charges against Benoit.
