Police respond to stabbing, shooting Friday night

Police dealt with two violent incidents in HRM Friday.

A 17-year-old boy remains in hospital after a stabbing near Main Ave Friday evening.

Police say it happened just before 6 p.m. in the 200 block of Coronation Ave.

A 16-year-old has been taken into custody and faces a number of charges including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

A third 17-year-old is facing breach of probation charges and possession of a prohibited weapon.

At this point, police think it’s a dispute between people who all knew each other.

A little later on, in a separate incident, two men were taken into custody after shots were fired inside a Prince Albert Road apartment.

Police were called to the building in the 1-100 block of the street shortly after 10 p.m.

The victim is reported to have suffered minor injuries.

Police say everyone involved knew each other.

A 23-year-old and a 26-year-old face a number of charges including attempted murder, break and enter, possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon and discharge firearm.
