Police are reminding drivers and pedestrians to share responsibility for safety after a teenager was struck in a crosswalk.
Police attended a car-pedestrian collision outside At 9 a.m., police responded to a car/pedestrian collision on Bell Road at Ahern Avenue.
“He suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS,” says a police news release. “A 50-year-old male driver was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.”
Police are reminding motorists and pedestrians that road safety is a shared responsibility.
“Pedestrians are reminded to make eye contact with drivers and wait until vehicles come to a complete stop before attempting to cross the road at marked crosswalks,” says the release.
