If you got new skis or a snowboard for Christmas you can test them out right away.

Leslie Wilson, manager of Ski Wentworth says they have four runs and their bunny hill open for skiing.

“We’re open on man-made snow,” she says. “We were able to take advantage of some cold temperatures over the Christmas break. Our guys were working hard at the end of November and earlier in December to get open. We’ve got some natural snow, sort of a skiff around the edges.”

Wilson says it’s one of the earliest openings for the hill and that’s because of the increased snow-making capacity from machines recieved during the Canada Games in 2011.

She says although it’s been slow in the last few days she expects things to pick up now that the Christmas rush is over.

Wilson says they’re hoping to have three more runs open by the weekend. Ski Martock is also reporting four of their runs open.
