SIRT Investigation after arrest in Dartmouth

Nova Scotia’s Independent Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a man suffered an injury as he was arrested by police in Dartmouth.

Police say between 4pm-5pm on December 15th, police stopped a car on Chappell St.between Richard St. and Wyse Road.

Officers arrested a 47 year old man on an outstanding warrant, and reports say there was a physical struggle between the man and police.

A few days later it was discovered the man had rib fractures.

The SIRT is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call police.
