RCMP say two people arrested yesterday in connection with a double homicide in Sheet Harbour were released this morning without charges.

The 45-year-old woman and 61-year-old man were arrested Tuesday morning as police executed search warrants a home on Herring Cove Road in Halifax and a Sheet Harbour property.

On Dec.11, the bodies of a 22 and 59-year-old man were found in the remains of a burned-out cottage. Police say the men, both from the Spryfield area, were looking for Christmas trees.

Mounties haven’t released further details.
