HRP seize ‘significant’ quantity of drugs

Halifax Regional Police say they’ve made a significant drug seizure.  A traffic stop on Lacewood Dr. in Halifax lead to the arrest of two men and a subsequent search of three homes – one on Walter Havil Dr. in Halifax, another on Crozier Crt. in Bedford and another on Taranaki Dr. in Cole Harbour.

In all, police uncovered more than 100 pounds of marijuana, 50 marijuana plants and grow equipment.  A woman was arrested after the search in Cole Harbour.

Quoc Nguyen, 49, of Bedford was held overnight and is schedule to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Wednesday to face charges of drug possession and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

John Michael Church, 39, of Cole Harbour will also appear on charges of cultivation of cannabis and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 30 year-old Cole Harbour woman was charged with cultivation of cannabis.  She will appear in court in January.
