Guns and drugs seized in Cape Breton

RCMP in Cape Breton say a major seizure of weapons and drugs illustrates the link between organized crime, drugs and violence.
Tuesday evening at a home in Sydney, police seized an AK-style assault rifle, a bullet-proof vest, a loaded .22-calibre handgun, a .22 calibre M-16 style rifle, a double-barreled shotgun, bows and arrows, bear spray and ammo.
They also seized, cocaine, hashish, marijuana, ecstasy, steroids, $20,000 in cash and a Jeep Cherokee.
Police say Jason Blinkhorn, 34, and Wendolynee Avery Southside, 39 of Southside Boularderie are charged.
An officer lists the charges as “5 Counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Resin, Methylenedioxamphetamine (also known as ecstasy), psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms ). Production of Marihuana, two counts of Unsafe Storage of Firearms, two counts of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.”
