Halifax Regional Police are spending the morning searching for weapons and a suspect after a woman says she was threatened with a gun in Dartmouth this morning.

The Emergency Responce Team (ERT) was called to 2 Canso Lane for a report of a weapons call at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday after a 38-year-old woman fled the area and reported being threatened.

“The residence was surrounded, contained,” Staff Sgt. Reid McCoombs told News 95.7 Tuesday morning. “Our Emergency Response Team was called out and are currently on scene executing their search warrant on the residence.”

Police were looking for a 35-year-old man, but police said they did not find anyone inside the home.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested when police arrived. McCoombs said she is a resident of that address and was seen walking away from it at the time police arrived. They believe she was involved in the incident.

Police say they will spend the morning searching the row house looking for the weapon.
