The Nova Scotia government says two people and two organizations will be honoured Monday at at the International Human Rights Day Event at Millwood High School in Halifax Regional Municipality. The theme is, Voice It! Change It!

The award categories are individual, organization and youth. People submitted nominations to the commission and the winners were chosen by the commissioners.

The Human Rights Commission will present an award to Jake MacDonald of Wolfville, a brain injury survivor and past president of the Annapolis Valley chapter of the Brain Injury Association.

Christine Porter will also receive an award for her work at the AIDS Coalition of Cape Breton.

The Avalon Sexual Assault Centre of Halifax and No Glory Productions, a youth group from Yarmouth, are also set to receive awards.
