The search is on for a stolen vehicle that ran into a police cruiser.

The incident began early Friday morning after a report that two cars had been stolen from an address on Shankel Road in Hubbards.

Officers managed to catch up with the suspect vehicle as they were leaving Highway 103 at Exit 5.

In the process of trying to take the drivers into custody, a police cruiser was rammed and the two cars sped off toward Halifax.

About 20 minutes later, officers spotted one of the vehicles and took the driver, a 21-year-old Halifax man, into custody

The second vehicle and its driver remain at large, but police believe it is easily identifiable because of the damage it sustained in the crash with the police car.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old has been arrested after RCMP found another stolen car overnight.

Officers spotted the Ford Taurus parked on the side of the Timberlea Parkway just off of Exit 3.

Officers searching the area found a man hitchhiking nearby. The 19-year-old was arrested after it was determined that he was in violation of a court order.

Police are also looking for the public’s help in finding a stolen truck from Eastern Passage.

According to police the truck was taken from a residence on Jeep Crescent at 6:40 a.m. this morning.

Police are looking for leads, and are asking anyone with information to contact the closest RCMP detachment or Crimestoppers.
