Good news at the gas pump this morning.

The price of regular self-serve is down this morning by 1.1 cents a litre, selling in Metro Halifax at $1.23.3.

The drop overnight marks the third consecutive decrease in gas prices in as many weeks.

Diesel fuel remained steady at $1.31.6 a litre.

Last year at this time, drivers were paying $1.23 a litre for gas and $1.29 for diesel.

Oil was selling at $98.34 U.S. a barrel, much higher than yesterday’s close of $86.26.
