You’ll have some extra change left in your pocket if you wait to fill up the car until tomorrow.
News 95.7 is predicting that when the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board resets fuel prices in the province at midnight, the price per litre for regular self-serve will drop by one to two cents a litre.
George Murphy with Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 unrest in places like Israel and Egypt haven’t been resulting in big fluctuations in the price of oil.
“The influence of the middle east may be waning a little bit here,” said Murphy. “We just came out of a round here of Middle East violence that was happening out there and we didn’t see a lot of big movement in prices did we? We saw a downwards movement which was a little bit unusual and probably a bit of a signal from the markets.”
Gas prices are lower in New Brunswick this morning, where that province’s regulator lowered the maximum price for gas overnight by 1.7 cents a litre to $126.8.
In Toronto’s unregulated market, predictions are that prices will jump by 2.3 cents a litre today, which would move the price of regular self-serve in Greater Toronto to $123.7.
