Premier Darrell Dexter has appointed a new commission to look at how provincial priorities, such as innovation and skills training, work in a local context.
He says growth in one part of the province means opportunities in others.
The five member commission’s work will take place over the next 18 months, and the group will be given a budget of around $800,000.
Dexter says that will pay for public engagement, travel, and a couple of staff in the secretariat.
The Premier tells News 95.7 who has been chosen to be a part of the commission.
“The commission will be led by (Acadia University President) Ray Ivany, and include Nova Scotia leaders John Bragg, Dan Christmas, Irene D’entremont and Susanna Fuller.”
In spring 2014, the commission is expected to release a report reflecting what was heard from Nova Scotian’s during public consultation.
