Police have seized a handgun and laid a number of charges after a foot chase on Gottingen Street.

At around 2 a.m. Friday morning, officers spotted an intoxicated man near the library.

When they approached him, he took off running.

He was caught and arrested and that’s when police found the loaded handgun.

Twenty-year-old Walter Madeaus Brooks of Halifax faces a number of charges including carrying a concealed weapon and breach of probation.
