After spending hours trying to coax someone out of a home at 6024 Compton Avenue near the Halifax Commons, where police believed someone was barricaded inside, officers stormed the house and found it empty.

A flash-bang was used and about a dozen officers filed inside at around 2 p.m. but there was no one there.

Even though no one was inside, Constable Pierre Bourdages says they still think there are weapons inside.

Police won’t say if today’s events are connected to the search warrant which has been issued for Andrew Hudder.

Earlier in the day, an older woman in a wheelchair and an older man left the home and were arrested and taken to the police station.

The standoff started at around 5:30 this morning when police say they saw someone inside the home.
