HALIFAX – Police in Halifax are reminding drivers to watch carefully for pedestrians after two people were hit in marked crosswalks. Police say a 57-year-old man suffered minor injuries after being
hit in the city’s south end at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. A 60-year-old man was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
About an hour later, police say a 20-year-old pedestrian was struck in a crosswalk and was treated in hospital for minor injuries. A 70-year-old driver was also given a ticket, which carries a
fine of $687 if convicted.
