Calgary firm to bring hundreds of jobs to NS

Premier Darrell Dexter has announced over 400 jobs are being created in the province to prevent people from moving out west to find work.

An engineering firm from Calgary called Projex Technologies Ltd. is recruiting people who have moved away, and new engineering grads to work at its Halifax office.

Dexter says working with Projex is going to help keep people at home.

“This means a better employment environment for young engineers, for people who have been taking their skills to other parts of the country. This is a win-win for everyone involved.”

The estimated average salary for employees will be $90 thousand a year, plus benefits.

The company plans to create up to 440 jobs within 5 years.
