Nova Scotia Power has reached a tentative agreement with 1,000 unionized workers, four days before they would have been in a legal strike position.
A union spokesman says the negotiating team is recommending the membership accept the deal, which would maintain the company’s defined-benefit pension plan.
The three-year deal includes an 8.2 per cent wage hike, or 2.65 per cent a year.
Union members will vote on the deal November 2nd, with results expected November 5th.
