The RCMP in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley have charged a woman with criminal negligence causing death and methadone trafficking following the death of a 20-year-old woman earlier this year.

Police say Katanna MacDonald of Greenwood was in medical distress when she was rushed to the Valley Regional Hospital on June 18.

She was placed on life-support and died three days later.

Kelsey Leanne Pynch, 21, of Nicholsville has been charged and is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on Nov. 26.
