A young teenager was arrested after an expensive series of break-ins in North Preston.
An alarm early Sunday morning sent police to Nelson Whynder Elementary School on North Preston Road, where three people broke in through a door and set off a fire extinguisher.
While officers were there, they heard windows breaking at the nearby North Preston Community Centre.
Police gave chase but two suspects got away. They collared a 14-year-old boy.
A look around revealed six broken windows, a smashed bus shelter, and a broken vending machine that had been looted for food.
The 14-year-old is facing charges while police look for his alleged accomplices.
