Less than a third of provincial government tourism workers in Nova Scotia plan to follow their jobs to Windsor.

The Nova Scotia Public Service Commission says nine have said they’ll go, 19 want another placement in government, while one person plans to leave government.

Tourism Minister Percy Paris announced a month ago that the 29 jobs would be moved from Halifax to Windsor with the creation of the Nova Scotia Tourism Agency.

Thursday was the deadline for the employees to make a decision.

The rate of tourism employees staying in their job is much higher than that of fisheries, aquaculture, agriculture and justice employees whose positions were previously announced to be moved.

Less than 10 per cent of them planned to follow their jobs.
