A high-priced car was trashed in an early morning collision in downtown Halifax.

Just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, a Porsche and a Chrysler 300 were involved in a crash at the corner of Argyle and Prince Streets.

A woman in the Chrysler had to be freed with the Jaws of Life; the other two men in the car were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The driver of the Porsche initially fled the scene on foot but was apprehended with the help of witnesses a short time later.

Halifax Regional Police have charged a 34-year-old man from Mississauga, Ontario with Impaired Driving and Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident.

The accused has been released from custody and will be appearing at Halifax Provincial Court on Oct. 31 at 10:00 am.
