Drivers in Nova Scotia lined up to fill up their tanks yesterday.
At least on station in Fall River ran out of regular gas as residents tried to fill up before the Utility and Review Board reset prices at midnight Friday.
Wilson’s Fuels Dave Collins says running stations dry happens from time to time, but with big swings in fuel prices as of late it’s a more common occurrence.
“All three times after the long weekend which shows the lag in the system.” says Collins.
It appears that the line-ups were worth the wait. When prices were reset at midnight Friday regular self-serve increased by 4.9 cents a litre moving the price to $1.43.4.
With the increase factored into the equation, a 50 litre fill-up is $2.45 cents more expensive today than it was yesterday.
