A man is in hospital after being shot three times in North Preston.
RCMP say they received a 911 call at 6 p.m. Monday that a shooting had occurred on Downey Road.
The victim, aged 18, is in serious but stable condition at the QEII.
Police say the man was already on the way to hospital in another vehicle when emergency responders met up with them.
“En route we noticed a vehicle leaving the area fairly fast. that vehicle was stopped by the RCMP at the intersection of Highway 7 and Lake Major Road. Inside the vehicle we found an 18-year-old male suffering from what we believe are multiple gunshot wounds,” Cpl. Scott MacRae told News 95.7 Tuesday.
The shooting is the second shooting on Downey Road. In July, Narico Downey was gunned down and later died in hospital. There are no charges in his death.
Last week RCMP announced the opening of a detachment in North Preston.
