If an election were held today in Nova Scotia, there would be a new government and a new premier, according to the most recent province-wide CRA poll.
It finds more voters now favor the Nova Scotia Liberal Party than the reigning NDP.
In fact, the poll, which is accurate to within 3.5 per cent, 95 out of 100 times, shows a ten-point difference between the two leading parties. The Liberals now enjoy a 41 per cent approval rating. The NDP has slipped from 34 per cent to 31.
The PC Party is losing ground, as well, according to the poll results, sitting at 22 per cent, down 6 from the last survey.
Also of interest is that more than 40 per cent of respondents are either admittedly undecided or say they plan to not vote.
There is no set date for the next election in Nova Scotia, although the current government’s mandate expires in 2013. There is wide speculation Nova Scotians could be at the polls in the spring.
