Police are looking for the public’s help is finding a suspect in an alleged sexual assault that occured near the Halifax Common Wednesday Aug. 15.
A 22-year-old woman walking near the intersection of Robie Street and Quinpool Road when she stopped to speak with a man.
“This man began speaking with her, and then suddenly reached and touched her inappropriate,” Const. Brian Palmeter told News 95.7. “He fled the area and she went home, and then contacted police several days later to report the incident.”
Police at this point believe this to be an isolated incident.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged Caucasian man, with salt-and-pepper short hair and facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a darkly-coloured windbreaker and a ball cap with RCMP lettering.
Halifax Regional Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying the man, who they say may frequent the area.
