A woman has died following a head on collision near Cole Harbour Friday afternoon. It happened on Highway 107 near the Forrest Hills exit.
She has since been identified as 49-year-old Marilyn Doherty-Legoffic of Dartmouth.
RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger tells News 95.7 the two cars collided head on shortly after 12:00 p.m.
The cause is still unknown, and Leger says it’s too early to say whether charges will be laid.
“We’re still very much in the preliminary stages of this investigation,” says Leger. “It’s really premature to speculate on charges at this time.”
The driver of the other car was treated and released from hospital.
A third vehicle, a pickup truck, was also involved in the collision. The occupants of that vehicle were uninjured.
A portion of Highway 107 was closed for several hours Friday afternoon.
