Council has decided that Metro Transit ferry service will be maintained on Friday and Saturday nights.

The decision means the boats will continue to ferry passengers across the harbour until midnight, as they do now, with the last ferry leaving Halifax at 11:45 pm.

Today’s decision represents a change to the approved 2012-13 operating budget for metro transit so the $11,000 cost for the remainder of this fiscal year will be absorbed as part of the overall surplus or deficit for transit.
