Expect a lot more people and cars along the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts starting Thursday. The Tall Ships’ Parade of Sail on Monday, July 23 is expected to draw a lot of spectators.
Police say drivers should expect some delays in the downtown cores on both sides of the harbour.
Concerns have also been raised about parking, especially in coastal neighbourhoods. During previous Tall Ship events, parking in these areas has been problematic and prevented emergency vehicles from getting through streets and roads.
Police say parking during Tall Ships will be monitored, and vehicles found in violation will be ticketed and possibly towed.
