Parks Canada is marking the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 by staging a number of special events in Halifax this weekend.

Among other things, part of the Halifax waterfront will be transformed to look like it was two centuries ago.

There will be musical performances featuring the Fifes and Drums of the 41st Regiment of Foot from Fort George National Historic Site.

As well, soldiers in period uniforms will be performing drills and marches, presenting naval signals and firing muskets and cannon.
