Halifax Regional Police have charged four people in connection with a recent rash of robberies in metro.

The most recent incident happened early Monday morning at a residence on Carleton St. in Halifax. It’s alleged two males, both armed with guns, entered the home and threatened two male occupants. One of the suspects sprayed one of the occupants with a sensory irritant. The suspects fled with various electronics and other goods. At the time of the incident several people were at the residence including two female guests.

Police have laid charges against a man from Bermuda, two Halifax women and a female youth from Dartmouth.

It’s believed the two women charged may have set up the crimes.

“What we do believe is that two of the women may have befriended the victims two cases and were present when the men appeared and committed the crimes,” says Halifax Regional Police Cst. Brian Palmeter. “So, for that reason, we believe they were part of the robberies, and they’ve been charged accordingly.”

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests and/or charges have not been ruled out.
