The price of gas increased slightly more than predicted, jumping 3.7 cents a litre overnight.
The Utility and Review Board reset Nova Scotia gas prices at midnight and now regular self-serve is selling for $1.218 in metro this morning compared to $1.181 yesterday. Diesel prices are also up, selling at $123.9 a litre in metro.
This is the first increase in gasoline prices in Nova Scotia in seven weeks as the province has been seeing a steady decline in prices.
One year ago today, gas was selling at $1.236 a litre for gas and $1.245 for diesel.
Oil was selling at $96.89 US a barrel, higher than yesterday’s closing price of $86.41 a barrel.

For the first time in months, retail gasoline prices have fallen below $3 a gallon in places, including parts of Michigan, Missouri and Texas.
