Two people are dead after a shooting in Lake Echo.
RCMP Corporal Scott MacRae says officers responded to a 911 call on Ponderosa Drive at 8:16 p.m. Saturday night.
Once there, they found a 47-year old woman who had been shot and killed.
The RCMP Emergency Response Team entered the home at 12:30 a.m., this morning.
Once inside, they found a 50-year-old man who was pronounced dead.
“We’re not actively looking for a suspect and as you know in the police world, we like to make sure we have our ‘I’s’ dotted and out ‘T’s’ crossed,” he explains. “Our investigators are still putting together all that happened last night.
MacRae says both victims lived in the home and he’s comfortable saying there is no threat to the public at this time.
He adds this was not a random act.
