Regulated gas prices have fallen, which we thought might happen – but they fell a bit more than we expected.
Regular self-serve is now selling for $1.241 in metro, a drop of 1.3 cents a litre from Thursday.
That will save 85 cents on a 50-litre fill up.
Diesel prices also edged down, by half a penny, to $1.183 in metro.
Gas prices haven’t gone up since April 13, when they fell from a record-high of $1.45.
Nova Scotians are now paying less for both gas and diesel than at this time last year. On June 8, 2011, gas was going for $1.27 in metro and diesel cost $1.25.
Oil was selling for $100 U.S. a barrel, substantially more than Thursday’s close of $83.91 a barrel.
