We’re not expecting much change at the pumps tonight.

News 95.7 is predicting that regulated prices will edge down by less than a penny a litre – if they move at all.

Regular self-serve is currently selling for $1.254 in metro.

George Murphy tells News 95.7, the market has been fairly quiet over the last two weeks – and until something major changes – prices should remain relatively stable until early to mid-July.

“The markets are still waiting for any positive news to start driving up the price of oil, or any news that would signify that they should be pulling their money out, in other words that oil is going to be continuing farther down,” he said. “I think that that’s part of the reason why your prices are going to stay exactly where they’re at right now.”

Last night in New Brunswick, regulated gas prices fell by 0.4 cents to a new maximum of $1.254. Diesel prices fell by the same amount to $1.264.

In Toronto, unregulated prices were expected to drop 0.3 cents a litre to a new average of $1.227.
