REGINA – Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will have a musical day in Regina – also known as the Queen City after Queen Victoria.

The royal couple arrived Tuesday night and are to start the day at the Saskatchewan legislature where the prince is to present the Diamond Jubilee Medal to six recipients.

Charles and Camilla are to view artifacts from a time capsule that has been opened to mark the legislature’s 100th anniversary this year.

A drum group is scheduled to perform several songs as the royal couple visits First Nations University.

Prince Charles is also to tour a company that has developed environmentally sustainable ways to clean up contaminated soil and water.

The royal couple are to end the day — and their visit to Canada — with a concert by the Regina Symphony Orchestra and a reception at the RCMP training academy with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Prince Charles and Camilla mingled with enthusiastic crowds Tuesday as they toured Toronto on the second day of their Canadian tour.

The prince visited the site of the athletes village for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games, where he met with athletes and even played a quick round of badminton with Michelle Li, who won gold at the Pan Am Games last year.

The royal couple also visited the Fort York Armoury for an 1812 commemorative military muster.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall began their Canadian tour Monday in New Brunswick. Among the many events included on the prince’s 16th visit to Canada was a stop at CFB Gagetown, where he flew as a naval helicopter pilot in the 1970s.
