Dartmouth is getting the next big name in music to come to HRM.

John Mellencamp will play the Dartmouth Sportsplex on July 9 during the Canadian leg of his No Better Than This tour.

According to the official tour website, it’s one of five stops in Atlantic Canada.http://www.mellencamp.com/news.html?n_id=1677 Mellencamp will also play in Moncton, Summerside, St. John’s and Sydney.

The Cowboy Junkies are joining Mellencamp for the Canadian tour.

Tickets go on sale March 30.

There’s no word on prices yet, but a report in the Summerside Pioneer-Journal states tickets for that show will range from $49.50 to $89.50, plus taxes and service charges.
