Firefighters on-scene in downtown Halifax

Rush-hour traffic was detoured and slowed Wednesday afternoon as firefighters dealt with an electrical fire in downtown Halifax.
Fire received a call of smoke in the TD Bank building on Barrington and George St around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire was under control quickly, however fire trucks remained on scene afterward investigating the incident.
Metro Transit buses were re-routing their runs on Lower Water street. Northbound traffic on Barrington was being diverted onto George St and was backed up past Spring Garden Road as a result. Southbound traffic was allowed to pass through Barrington Street however was moving very slowly.
